چکیده
The aim of the study was to identify localization, percentage and morphometric characteristics neuronal NO synthase (nNOS)-immunoreactive (IR) neurons in intramural ganglia myenteric (MP) submucous plexus (SP) large intestine rats different age groups.
Material methods. work performed on Wistar aged 1, 10, 20, 30, 60 days 2 years using immunohistochemical methods.
Results. nNOS-IR were found from moment birth during remaining periods. In MP, largest detected newborn rat decreased ontogenesis up life, then did not change until senescence. SP, also greatest number newborns, next 20 significantly, 30-day two-month-old animals, but again appeared numbers rats. average cross-sectional area increased MP first two months life. size cells 30 life significantly larger compared with other ages.
Conclusions. early postnatal ontogenesis, there is a decrease expression nNOS subsequent increase

Neuronal nitric oxide synthase expressing neurons: a journey from birth to neuronal circuits
Nitric oxide (NO) is an important signaling molecule crucial for many physiological processes such as synaptic plasticity, vasomotricity, and inflammation. Neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) is the enzyme responsible for the synthesis of NO by neurons. In the juvenile and mature hippocampus and neocortex nNOS is primarily expressed by subpopulations of GABAergic interneurons. Over the past t...
متن کاملNeuronal nitric oxide synthase generates superoxide from the oxygenase domain.
When l-arginine is depleted, neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) has been reported to generate superoxide. A flavoprotein module construct of nNOS has been demonstrated to be sufficient for superoxide production. In contrast, nNOS was reported not to be involved in superoxide formation, because such formation occurred with a mixture of the boiled enzyme and redox-active cofactors. We aimed to...
متن کاملNitric oxide from neuronal nitric oxide synthase sensitises neurons to hypoxia-induced death via competitive inhibition of cytochrome oxidase.
Hypoxia/ischaemia is known to trigger neuronal death, but the role of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) in this process is controversial. Nitric oxide (NO) inhibits cytochrome oxidase in competition with oxygen. We tested whether NO derived from nNOS synergises with hypoxia to induce neuronal death by inhibiting mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase. Sixteen hours of hypoxia (2% oxygen) plus deo...
متن کاملAge-Related Changes of Cardiac Caveolins and Nitric Oxide Synthase Modulation During Hypovolemic State
Results After bleeding, NOS activity increased by 21% and 45% in young rats and by 32% and 56% in adult rats. Western blot analysis revealed that NOS levels were lower (31%) in adult rats. Sixty minutes after bleeding, eNOS activity increased by 147% in young animals and by 66% in adults, with lower increase at 120 minutes. Colocalization showed a diffuse pattern of eNOS location associated wit...
متن کاملMacula densa neuronal nitric oxide synthase.
In the juxtaglomerular apparatus of the kidney the distal tubule returns to its own glomerulus where specialised cells, the macula densa (MD) cells, are located so that they come in contact with the tubular fluid. It is well documented that MD cells sense the distal tubular flow-rate and that when the flow is too high they are activated, which leads to vasoconstriction of the afferent arteriola...
